Taxonomy Level and Classification
.The focus of the research would be at the taxonomic level because mountain lions are at the top of a food chain. This makes them important because the top consumers prevent a population from growing larger than the system can support. The taxonomy can be seen in the picture above. The organism can be tracked by looking for footprints and also going into their habitat and looking for them. They are shown in the Animalia Kingdome. Their phylum is Chordata and the order is Carnivora. Felidae is their family and their Genus is Puma. They are known as the Puma Concolor.
